Welcome to the home page for The Attack on Ynys Môn, a free add-on mod released in 2003 for Bethesda's impressive Morrowind game. It is a fully playable story with numerous quests and battles, though I dramatically shortened the plot before I went travelling round the world for over a few years. The mod stressed the Morrowind engine to its limits (and sometimes beyond), the stability bugs of Morrowind made finishing the downhill assault on the Dumner fortress at Ynys Weith almost unviable and I haven't released an update for over 3 years.
The last released version of the plugin contains over 7 battles/skirmishes and loose parallels on three historical events:1. Magnentius' Last Stand
Take part in a battle between the remaining forces of Flavius Magnus Magnentius' army and those of the Empire on a small remote island off Vvardenfell.
2. Maximus' Rebellion against Gratianus
Defend the north-west from the usurping forces of Magnus Maximus, or turn traitor and aid Maximus against Gratianus.
3. Attack on Ynys MônPlease remember these are Morrowindish parallels on real history, not attempts to recreate the real life events with absolute accuracy.
Lead a squad of Legionnaires in an assault on the Druidic hillfort of Ynys Môn, an island within an island who's only entrance is via a treacherous valley. Or fight with the Breton Druids, defending the slopes from the overwhelming forces of the oppressive Imperials.

Some shots of the last development version
I had hoped to release a deeper version, running a connected parallel through the Roman
and early Dark age times, including figures such as Magnentius, Maximus, Gratian, Gwyrtheyrn, Urien Rheged, Rhydderch,
Cartimandua, Boudicca and Ambrosius Aurelianus. However I ran out of time before leaving for Australia/New Zealand in October and
had to create a shortened plot. Here are some screenshots of the development version, some of these scenarios I
managed to put in the latest release. Frustrations with Morrowind's game engine reliability discouraged me from devoting massive amounts
more time to completing the project.
